After a whopping $500+ vet bill (my cat has asthma, so this bill is recurring for the foreseeable future, albeit with some adjustments over time), I've been kicking myself about not getting pet insurance. We've had a few cats over the years, three of whom have passed from a terribly combination of advanced renal disease and cancer. While we did not have pet insurance at the time, we ate the costs associated with care (they were all older (19+), and care was palliative). I'm wondering if anyone has experience with pet insurance, especially after a diagnosis? What insurance do you use? What are the pros and cons?
