I got off of a meeting yesterday where socks were briefly discussed. As I've gotten older, I've found familiarity, comfort, and desire for the mundane. While I've always liked socks (hate shoes), I've never wanted to invest in quality socks/ethical brands before. I'm wondering if other folks feel the same, not just about socks, but about ethical consumerism (is there such a thing?..."there's no ethical consumption under capitalism"). Two-parter: 1. What's your favorite sock brand and why? 2. Would you consider yourself to be an "ethical consumer"? Is there such a thing? Are there ties to eco consciousness/sustainability/etc.? What brands do you shop that make you feel this way?
